“On November 30th,Cais da Villa hosted another Wine Dinner with fantastic attendance. It was an evening that surprisingly combined Chef Daniel Gomes’ creations with the wines from Quinta dos Carris and Quinta Serra d’Oura.
Once again, we were treated to the wines from our producers during the tasting and later during the dinner, where the main goal is always to spread the name of the companies among all those present.
Prepared by Chef Daniel Gomes, the menu consisted of several courses. To start the meal, the Chef suggested wild mushroom and hazelnut ravioli as an appetizer. Regarding the meat dish, a Transmontana-style lamb stew was prepared, and for the fish dish, monkfish, Bisaro bacon, and creamy spinach couscous were served. To finish the gastronomic experience on a high note, the Chef proposed baked cheesecake with citrus.
Guilherme Osório, Sommelier at Cais da Villa, highlights the Wine Dinner as a way to energize the space and promote the producers, where the aim of the dinner is for each customer to create their own pairing.
Located in an old warehouse at the train station of Vila Real, a historical building over one hundred years old, CAISDAVILLA is distinguished by the project’s creativity and innovation and considered by Turismo de Portugal as a point of interest for tourism in the Douro and Alto Douro region.
