Quinta de Cidrô
Quinta de Cidrô, located in São João da Pesqueira, one of the best known wine production areas of the Douro, has become a model of winegrowing experimentation for the entire region.
For the production of this wine, a careful selection of grapes is made in the Pinot Noir plots in order to pick grapes that are at different levels of ripening and production, seeking to establish high quality parameters that stand out in terms of acidity and character.
Much of the process is manual and, even during fermentation, the manual method of “lowering the cap” is used in order to achieve a gentle extraction capable of achieving delicate aromas. Ageing takes place for a period of 12 months in used French oak barrels.
It has a delicate ruby colour, this Pinot Noir revealing elegance with typical notes of cherry and currant harmoniously integrated with vanilla nuances. A long and fruity finish, which is perfected after a few hours of decanting (Alc./Vol.: 13,5%).
