Quinta dos Castelares
Located in Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in Douro Superior, at an altitude between 500-600 meters, Quinta dos Castelares is a project that began in 2015, by Manuel Caldeira’s desire to enhance regional production.
This wine has a manual harvest, with gentle pressing of the whole bunches. Fermentation is with temperature control at 16ºC, partial fermentation in new French oak barrels, fine grain followed by aging, with stirring of the fine lees.
It is presented as a fruity wine of medium structure, very elegant and gastronomic, with a freixen character of the Upper Douro (Castes Códega do Larinho, Rabigato, Gouveio, alcohol 13%).
