On 20th June, Cais da Villa hosted the first edition of “Cabrito Transmontano é no Cais”, which was fantastically well attended. This event surprisingly combined the creations of Chef Daniel Gomes, the Cabrito Transmontano DOP supplied by Caprisserra and the Queijos de Cabra Transmontano DOP supplied by Leicras.
To get this event off to a great start, we’ll have a wine tasting, where the aim is for each customer to make their own pairing.
Prepared by Chef. Daniel Gomes, the menu consisted of several moments. To start the meal, the Chef suggested as a starter, scallop and prawns with cherry gazpacho and crunchy Transmontano DOP goat’s cheese. The main meat dish of the evening was Transmontano PDO kid with rosemary, crispy potato roll, sautéed green beans, grilled asparagus, game sausage and oven rice. To round off the gastronomic experience in the best possible way, the chef proposed a Serrana Transmontana goat’s curd tart with apricot sorbet.
All those present were treated to an evening of good food, great wine and even better socialising.
Chef Daniel Gomes left his testimony about the event: “Our aim is to promote the region’s producers and to valorise producers who have values such as sustainability and the projection of the territory as their goal.”
